How to Rush
Make sure to have all the health potions, arrows/bolts, repairs, and Town Portal scrolls you'll need to finish the rush quickly. If you use a teleport item make sure it's charged up. There is nothing worse than running out of teleport charges.
A rush usually starts in Act 1 of normal difficulty. You will need the Waypoint to Catacombs level 2. From Catacombs level 2, you must find your way to the stairs that lead to level 3. Once on level 3 find the stairs to level 4. Once in level 4 clear the first area WITHOUT opening the door. After it's clear make a tp for the rushee. Once the rushee is in level 4 of the Catacombs, you can proceed to kill Andariel. You don't really need to open the second door if you have teleport. By not opening it, it can sometimes save your rushee, due to monsters that like to run around. For the rushee to gain access to Act 2, Andarial must be killed. Once done take the tp back to the camp. The Rushee will speak with Warriv and head to Act 2, while you take the Waypoint to Halls of the Dead Level 2 (only if the rushee needs a cube).Technically if they don't have one they can borrow yours to transmute the staff and one will drop for them in Travincal Act 3.
Once at Halls of the Dead Level 2 find the stairs to level 3. In level 3 find the chest that contains the Horadric Cube. Don't worry about opening the chest, just make a tp (after room is clear) and head to the Far Oasis waypoint. Rushee can open the chest and collect the cube.
At Far Oasis you search for a hole in the ground that will have the name Maggot Lair. Find the stairs to level 2 then level 3. Once in level 3 you must find Coldworm the Burrower. Kill her and make a tp. The rushee will collect the staff.
Head to the Lost City waypoint. Here you must find the Valley of the Snakes where you will see the entrance to the Claw Viper Temple. Make your way down to level 2, clear the room and make a tp for rushee. The rushee will kick the altar and collect the amulet.
Return to town, the rushee must talk to Drognan before you head to Arcane Sanctuary. The rushee will assemble the staff. In Arcane find the Summoner then set a safe tp for the rushee. They must be close enough to the Summoner when he is killed to get the quest. If they aren't close enough and don't get the quest technically they can walk through the Magi Canyon and Tal Rasha's tomb with you, but it's a lot more hassle. Once the Summoner is killed rushee reads Horazon's Journal opening the portal to the Canyon of the Magi. They will be given the symbol to Tal Rasha's Tomb.
Go to the tomb with the symbol shown to the rushee and look for Tal Rasha's Chamber. Once there, make a tp for the rushee. They will place the staff into the orifice so that the secret area will open. No need for the rushee to go down, they don't need to be present to get the quest. Kill Duriel, once he's dead the rushee can come down following the newly opened path. The rushee will return to town, talk to the appropriate people and head to Act 3.
In Act 3 go to Travincal, send a tp. Rushee must be present when you kill the Council Members and close enough to get the quest. Once they are dead the rushee will return to town and talk to Cain.
Take the Durance of Hate level 2 waypoint and find your way down to level 3. Once there, there's no need to kill all monsters. Just make a tp near the red portal, and have the rushee come down. For the rushee to get the quest they must be down there with you. Kill Mephisto and have the rushee take the red portal to Act 4.
In Act 4 take the waypoint to River of Flame. Make your way across into the Chaos Sanctuary. Beware, good resists will be needed here. Clear the whole area and open 4 seals. Make sure not to open the last seal unless the rushee is down there with you. Once the seals are released, Diablo will appear in the middle. The rushee must be able to see Diablo when he dies; or else he/she won't get quest. Once Diablo is dead, make tp and head to Act 5. Rushee will talk to Tyrael for the portal to Act 5.
In Act 5 take the waypoint to The Ancients' Way. Find your way to The Arreat Summit. Rushee must be at least level 20 to complete this quest. You must destroy all 3 Ancients without leaving the area. If you leave they will be reset. If you open a Town Portal the Ancients will be reset. If no one is alive on the Summit (everyone is dead or in town), the Ancients will be reset. Once completed make make a tp and return to town.
Take the Worldstone Keep Level 2 waypoint. Find your way to level 3 here you will find the Throne of Destruction entrance. Defeat all Monsters in Baal's Throne Room. Then enter the Worldstone Chamber and defeat Baal, rushee must be present to get this quest. This will complete normal difficulty.
For Nightmare and Hell difficulties, just do the same as Normal. The only change will be harder monsters and such.
Things to do and not to do:
1. In most cases, the rushee will need to be down in the same level as you. If the rushee does die during a boss battle, have him/her remain dead. The rushee will still complete rush.
2. Do not open all seals in Act 4 without having the rushee down there with you for at leats the last one.
3. Be sure to have potions, repairs, Town Portals and such when first starting rush.
Tid Bits for Being Rushed:
1. Always be up to date on the progress of your rush. One thing a rusher hates is a rushee not paying attention.
2. Remember this is not a leveling game. Do NOT ask to be down in the same level as the rusher so that you may gain exp.
3. Do NOT ask for Town Portals. The rusher knows what to do and does not need your "assistance".
4. If killed by an Act Boss, do NOT revive yourself. You can gain the quest if you remain dead.
5. If someone says "come", asking you to come in a portal, don't say "ok". You could be in the portal by the time that you type that.
Tid Bits for Cowing:
1. If your character cannot kill cows, do NOT roam around. This will only attract more cows. Camp the portal like a good little leech.
2. After going through the Cow portal, remain there until higher level players can make sure the portal is safe.
3. Do NOT run around and pull cows (also called herding). One of the most irritating things u can do in a cow game is to pull cows on unsuspecting players, or on players that already have their hands full.
4. THE most irritating thing, do not kill the Cow King. If you see the Kings Corral, do not go to close to it. If done, the character that made that cows game can never make (that difficulty) cows again.
