/friends demote [accountname] (alias: /friends d) - Demotes the account name on your friends list. If no position is supplied (or is zero), then the friend will be demoted one place on the list. If the position is supplied, then the friend will be moved to that position from the bottom of the list with number 1 being the lowest position.
Other Information - When /dnd is activated you will still receive entry notifications from mutual friends. The maximum number of friends on a list is 25.

Joining Channels:
To join a channel on Bnet; click on the Channel button. Select a channel from the list, or manually type in the desired channel name in the area provided, and click OK. You will then be placed in the designated channel. As an alternative to the Channel button, the /join command may be used to quickly join a desired channel. Usage: /join [channel name] Example: "/join MyChannel" .
D2, LOD, SC, BW, and WC II Op Channels: Op channels can only be made when the OP channel name is the same as the account name of the creator. To create your Op channel, simply type "/join op [your account name]". The word "op" before your account name indicates you are creating a user operated (Op)channel, where you will be the channel operator. To join an Op channel created by someone else, simply type "/join op [channel name]".

Miscellaneous
Avoid Death: Press [Esc] when you are about to die, save and exit the game. Depending on how close to dying you are, you'll need to be quick. You can also take a portal to town. Even if affected by poisen, you cannot die there. One of the townsfolk(depending on what act your on) will be able to heal you and your merc for free. Act1 = Akara, Act2 = Fara, Act3 = Ormus, Act4 = Jamella, Act5 = Malah.
Belt Info: You can drink a potion from your belt, by right clicking on it. Also, each occupied belt slot has a number from 1-4. Pressing one of these hotkeys, is a fast way to drink a potion, without having to click on it. As you use items from the belt, the items above that slot will automatically drop down.
Holding down SHIFT and RIGHT-Clicking, when buying Health Potions, auto-fills any empty slots in the belt. This also applies to buying scrolls of Town Portal and Identify scrolls.
Holding down SHIFT and LEFT-Clicking on Health, Mana and rejuvenation potions in inventory, will auto-move them to the appropriate column in your belt.
Casting Delays: Some skills have a Casting Delay. A Casting Delay is a period of time after a player has cast a spell during which the player cannot re-cast that spell. For example, after casting Blizzard you must wait a few seconds before you're able to cast another one. The delay differs between skills. Not all skills have a Casting Delay. There is nothing you can do to reduce or eliminate the Casting Delay. If the Skill Action Button becomes red after casting a spell and you have enough Mana to cast it, this means the Casting Delay is active.
Tip: While you're waiting through the Casting Delay you can switch to another spell and use it while you're waiting for the first skill to be available to cast again. Example: Cast a Fire Wall (Casting Delay), then quickly switch to Static Field (No Casting Delay), then switch back to Fire Wall again.

Skills with Casting Delays
Assassin
Dragon Flight - 1 seconds
Blade Sentinel - 2 seconds
Shadow Warrior - 6 seconds
Shadow Master - 6 seconds
Sorceress
Fire Wall - 1.4 seconds
Meteor - 1.2 seconds
Hydra - 2 seconds
Blizzard - 1.8 seconds
Frozen Orb - 1 second
Amazon
Poison Javelin - 0.5 seconds
Plague Javelin - 4 seconds
Immolation Arrow - 1 second
Valkyrie - 6 seconds

Paladin
Fist of the Heavens - 1 second
Druid
Firestorm - 0.6 seconds
Molten Boulder - 2 seconds
Fissure - 2 seconds
Volcano - 4 seconds
Armageddon - 6 seconds
Hurricane - 6 seconds
Werewolf - 1 second
Werebear - 1 second
Grizzly Bear - 1 second

Cow Level: To access the Secret Cow level, you must first kill Baal. After you have killed Baal (making sure the quest has been completed), you can access the Secret Cow Level for that difficulty level. Go to the northwest part of the map in Tristram(portal for Tristram is in act 1 Stony Field) search Wirt's body, get his leg. Go to the Rogue Encampment, place both Wirt's leg and a Tome of Town Portal in the Horadric Cube and press Transmute. It will open a portal to a hidden level, filled with axe wielding cows.
*If you create a portal to the secret Cow level, do NOT kill the Cow King. If you do not, the same character will be able to create a portal there again repeatedly. However, if you or anyone else kills the Cow King, and you created the portal, you will not be able to do it again. Note: You can get another leg from Wirt as long as you do not have one in your possession (including stash).
Gold: Identify items before selling them, this makes them more valuable to vendors. Also, repairing an item will increase its worth. There is a cap on how much gold you can carry, in your inventory and stash. The amount is based on character level. The amount of gold lost when dying, is also based on character level. However, the penalty will never exceed 20% of the total amount of gold the character has. To avoid losing gold when dying, you can drop gold from your inventory/stash on the ground in town (dont do this in public games, as someone will take it).
Leeching:Leeching means, to gain experience from a kill another player in your party has made. To gain any experience, you must be within 2 screens, and on the same board, as a monster's death.
Leveling Guide: The best way to level, is by playing with others. This makes it go faster. Everyone in the party gains experience, without having to personally make every kill (party members must be within 2 screens, and on the same board as the kill, to leech any experience). If you don't have someone to play with, look for public games that have "leveling" in the description. Being rushed through acts also helps (this is when someone with a higher level character, helps you complete quests required to go onto the next act). If you don't have a friend who can rush you, normal and nightmare rushes can often be obtained for free. Ask in channels, or look for public games with "rush" in the description.
The following is a guide of the best places to gain experience, based on a character's level. If you decide to experiment on where to level, keep in mind, If a monster is 6-10 levels lower than your character level, you could receive as little as 5% of that monster's experience when slain.

Leveling Guide
1-12 Normal Tristram Runs
12-18 Normal Sewer Runs
18-20 Normal Arcane Sanctuary Runs
20-24 Normal Cow Runs
24 Normal Ancients (This will take you to 25)
25-39 Normal Baal Runs
39 Nightmare Ancients (This will take you to 40)
41-59 Nightmare Baal Runs
59 Hell Ancients (This will take you to 60)
60+ Hell Baal Runs

Permanent Characters: Once a character has logged two hours of total game time, it is considered an active character. If this active character is not played for three months, it will expire. After one month of inactivity, a message will appear displaying a 60 day countdown before the character will expire. Once the character is played in a game, the countdown will once again be reset to three months.
Permanent Games: A game that has existed for over 5 minutes, will stay up for an additional 5 minutes, if no one is in the game. In practical terms this means, it's possible to transfer items to different characters/accounts by yourself (example: your mules). I dont suggest transferring items of high value by yourself. Some items are notorious for disappearing, when placed on the ground. Ideally, good items should be held in a friend's inventory when you transfer, to avoid this from happening. You also run the risk (when placing items on the ground) of loosing them to lag. Lag means a slow connection, either on your part or the server's.
Recovering Your Body: If you die in a game, and you can't get back to your body: exit and rejoin the game (or a new game), and your body will be waiting in town for you. Note - If your inventory was full, you will drop potions (if you had any on your belt) where you died, and you will always drop any gold you were carrying. These will remain at the spot where you died, they will not be in town when you rejoin. Bodies cannot be looted on D2 (with the exception being hardcore chars). It is in your interest to recover your body where it died however, because you will recover 75% of the experience lost when you died. If you cannot pick up your corpse it is probably one of two things. One,your character is dependent on items being worn to supply str or dex to wear other items. In this case items need to be placed on in the proper order to meet str/dex requirements. You have to make enough room in your inventory to carry all the items, then you will be able to pick up your body. The other problem may be that you picked up equipment before you picked up your corpse. In this case simply take off the new items and you will be able to pick up your body.
Resistances: Resistances on Nightmare Difficulty start at -40, and -100 on Hell Difficulty. Whenever you enter games of those difficulty levels, your resistances will change accordingly; once you join a Normal Difficulty game, your resistances will be reset to a base of 0.
Run D2 In A Minimized Window: Enter "-W" at the command line. If you have a shortcut on the desktop, you will want to put the code in this way: "C:\Program Files\Diablo2\Diablo2.exe"-W (Be sure to put the -W in after the quotes). Mac users can press command+M to switch between windowed and full-screen mode.
Screen Shots: To take a screen shot in a game or in a chatroom, press the "Prt Scr" key. Images will be stored in your Diablo2 folder (C:\Program Files\Diablo II).
